Technical Outline of the Session and Topics

The 21st century is the era of robots, as a wide variety of robots with diverse functionalities are being introduced. With the advancement of industries, it is anticipated that the related technologies and application levels will further deepen. In particular, wearable robots, directly applied to the human body, play a role in augmenting and enhancing human capabilities. Due to its broad applicability and diverse demand, this field is expected to make significant breakthroughs in the near future. In this special session, we aim to present the latest research on the design, fabrication, and applications of wearable robots. Specifically, we intend to share research trends in the components of wearable robots such as actuators, sensors, energy harvesting and storage devices, and their control. Your keen interest in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Topics of the Session:

  • Mechanical design and actuators of wearable robots
  • Human-robot collaborative control strategies for wearable robots
  • Soft wearable devices: sensors and energy storage/harvesting devices and systems
  • Machine learning methods for perception and control
